OK. Now for the T4 I'm gonna build. This is the engine for the KG. Tranny already bought years ago. Engine 2.7 , Big Heads. Fairly normal Cam.
Tranny specs:

R/P 3.88

1st :    3.78
2 cnd: 2.06
3rd:    1.26
4th:    0.89

This is going to be a full street car, interiour, stereo, upholstery, sound deadening, etc.

What do you think? I chose for big cc's to keep compression reasonable. Heads are 60 cc.

Sounds good. Almost thought I was in the NSFW thread on the samba there.

If its intended only to be used in the street, then itīs perfect in my eyes.   I used the same tranny with a 1.8L (90hp) T4 + 185/80-15 tires....  ran extremely good.

ideally you would want something like a 4.12 with a 3.78 1st,2.21 2nd 1.56 3rd and 1.12 4th with a 26inch tall tyre,
That has to be the most perfect, classic all-round set of ratios for a street-driven VW. Rather like suggesting people run IDAs, 010, dual quiet-packs etc. OK, not IDAs in your case, but you'll see the error of your ways eventually (ie, when you get old).
