Post by: jick on February 21, 2007, 20:21:29 pm

Are these the 1/1.2/2.8 mm rings? They are hard to replace with other brands I found out.

I am running wiseco, and I use to run total seal on 2nd. The engine put out 254 on the dyno. Then I change to "all" wiseco rings, and the engine put out exactly the same (254). The reason for me to go back to "all" wiseco is that I did some reading, an suddenly find out how the ring pack works all togheter.

save the money for something smarter.....is my opinion.

Thanks
Roar

they're ....top ring .2270
               2nd ring.1500
               3rd ring..0800

i suppose i'm just trying to save a few ££, if i need total seals i'll buy them, but if its a luxury rather than a neccesity then i'll use the wiseco's....

..find out how pistonrings works, and you will agree with me, that it is not luxury to use total seal, its just money down the drain. (unless you are using pistons with only one compression ring)

Thanks

I have to agree with Roar (N2O) don't waste your money, the rings that come with Weiscos are just  fine. The fancy rings may look good on a leek down test but in real performance no difference. I aslo had that confirmed by I.C.E. Rob Lawing who builds Pro Mod engines.

That sounds like ring gaps. JHU was referring to the ring height.
