that pictures came frpm the  garage forum ,
the guys who posted the pictures said it was is car  ,he's named dyno don , not chamberlain , here 's what he said : the car was is Daily driver in 1975 - 2180cc with dual 48's, Fumio Fukyaki Heads, Engle 140, American 5 Spokes, 4.86 ring & pinion

another guys ask him if he was into dkp (Quote from: Jim Aust on April 29, 2009, 08:14:45 am
Don, you know I already think you are a hero- but you were a DKP member? WOW!!! Super-Hero! ) and he answered :

Still have my pin   I was probably the shortest lived member in the history of the club. couple of months before I dropped VW's for Rally racing.

i asking him about  the car : "i see the picture of the burgundy red 66 bug  , do you owned this car at the time  i know that DKP II member harvey rosenthal had this car when he was is dkp in the late 70's
the wheels aren't  empi 5 spokes , but american racing torq trust in 5x205 vw pattern , i'm a big fan of this car   , have you some other pictures of this car

he answered : i see the picture of the burgundy red 66 bug  , do you owned this car at the time  i know that DKP II member harvey rosenthal had this car when he was is dkp in the late 70's Although it looks Burgundy in that pic, it is actually India Red (look at the colors of the other cars across the street, they are way off too). Only had the car for a short time in 75 with a partner. Don't think it's the same car.the wheels aren't  empi 5 spokes , but american racing torq trust in 5x205 vw pattern ,You are of course right on that, I didn't even notice. It had Empi's on it when I was drving it, Brian Chapman, the guy who ended up with it must have changed them before he took this picture[/font]. i'm a big fan of this car   , have you some other pictures of this car  No other pics, I only had this car for a very short time, got it from a customer at Auto Haus where I worked. My buddy Brian actually bought it and we put my motor and trans in it. After a couple of months he bought them from me and kept the car for a little bit before he sold it. He gave me this picture probably 25 years ago, I didn't have any pictures of it.thx in advance

answer
I'm not really the one for too many stories from those days as like I say I was only aorund for a short time. But I was hired at Auto Haus by John Lazenby initially (he was out of VW and into BMW's by then) and just recently had some contact with him, after 35 years. He is heavy into Chylser 300's from the 1950's. I also worked with Eddie "Antlers" Craig and Mike Ahlstrom who was also in DKP and later worked for Small Car. I do remember when personalized plates became the rage and Doug got FASRNU, he really wanted QUIKRNU (I think that was the spelling) but another friend of mine got it (not for a Bug) and Doug was pissed off. I hired Jeff Kymla to work for us and of course he went on the start KYMCO a few years later. Most of the rest of it is just a blurr that I hadn't really thought about for years.

John Leslie (friend of Demoss) bought Harveys car. He wrecked it then transfered all the parts onto another shell and painted it white. It had a 1835 cc / 48 IDAS and a Mohler gearbox. The burgandy / red shell was placed on top of our high school (El Modena) next to a porta potty and spray painted with the words PIT STOP. John  sold the car to Jim Kitasaki from Orange and I had the wheels on my 60' convert for a while. Jim parted the car out and Bill S. and I have never found out where the wheels went. They were in a tire shop in Orange called ironically V and W tire.

I'm getting in on this very late and trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together.  What ever happend to Harvey Rosethal?  I've ben told the American's on his red car came from my '63 after it was wrecked by the person who purchased it from me.

I'd like to contact Harvey and talk with him.

Actually I've heard that my American's went through several hands beyond Harvey.  Names such as Bill Schwimmer, Dyno Don and maybe a few others are mentioned.

My reasoning for trying to contact Harvey is he may know about what fate was dealt to the rest of my '63.  Also would like to know if he actually took them from the car or obtained them another way.
