I've scored this 78.4 Okrasa crank today and it's in a good condition on the journals, grinded to 0.25 on the mains

I've searched all topics here and on google, some prices vary from $200 to $600

These cranks arent laying around everywhere, so best to hang on to it or to sell it? and what could it be worth? I've got no intentions (yet  Grin Grin) of building a 2165 or somewhat else..

Thanks,

Martin! Grin

Have it crack tested before you use it for sure,if it checks out clear then use it,they were a good quality crank

Yes they were a good crank and were copied with their design
firstly with the bug pack and in recent years, nearly all the chinese cranks.

Seems supect that the mains-only are ground,
and it looks to me like the rod journals have been ground down to chevy?
The ones I have seen, all 78.4s came as VW journal, and the 84s were Porsche.
This is not to say that there were not others,
only that yours may have been f?*ked with.

Yes get it crack tested before getting too excited.

Thanks for the reply's! I've got some more images of it. Doesn't 'seem to be' a knock-off to me

Journals are std vw and mains are ground 0.25 (they could use another 0.25 though..) and/or good mains polish

When i have a purpose for it, i'll send it to Udo for inspection and so forth.

If you can tell if it is a knock-off or the real deal, that would be great, thanks!

Besides the cast-in okrasa logo, the above star with (I suspect) Alfing writing below it is pretty conclusive its original.
I also suspect its cross-drilled like original, which new chinese cranks don;t have afaik.
These were truely forged cranks, made by a upper end quality german small-batch specialist crank maker.
It would make for an awesome turbo engine crank  Grin
