Title: NSRA Hot Rod Drags 15th & 16th September Shakespeare County Raceway
Post by: benssp on September 11, 2007, 10:25:02 am
The NSRA have kindly invited 6 Outlaws along to their annual Hot Rod Drags, Travis Ryder, Paul Bate, Bernie Newbury, Ian Clarke, Joe Gallagher and Phil 'The Beard' West

Along with racing against each other, their will be some VW v V8 racing to show dyed in the wool rodders that you shouldn't always bet against the little guy!

Bernie will be hoping to get his own back on 'Roarin Rat' ;D

It should be a good one and a good warm up for DDD

Supercharged Chevy V8 vs normally aspirated VW motor - none of the rodders expected the race to be within tenths of a second! And now Bernie's got the gas on... ;)

well done bernie great time, how did the other fair ?

Phil West ran a few more 11's and reached a new PB top speed of 113mph, Bernie also got a PB top speed of 138mph! this is his first time out with a spool in the Bus Box and has managed to adapt to it fairly quickly, think we've got the tyre pressures now, on the last pass he did a very controlled 40ft wheelie! Steve Young in his oval street car  was also running some PB's and Travis has some gear change issues.

We had a good weekend of racing and managed to beat all the V8's we raced against!

Ben you trying to be funny we all know that a little old flat four bug will not beat a V8. :D
