When I used to sell British car parts we used to joke that "The British drink there beer warm because their refrigerators were made by Lucas."

I believe that the lights we use were also used on Austin-Healys.

Mine was, why cant the British build computers, because they can't figure out how to make them leak oil.

Funny thing was, this past year the British built a super computer that was, wait for it, wait for it, oil cooled.  Cheesy

First electric computer was the Eniac and built in the U.S.  Perhaps there were Brits working on it though.

The clear L488 was standard on the front of Morris Minor Travellers I think, and at the back they used the flat red and amber ones. My Dad's Frogeye Sprite used the domed ones, amber on the back and clear on the front, but I believe the works racers used flat ones for some reason! So we're going to stick flat ones on there when we get around to rebuilding it...

Guess I should have been a little more specific in my question. I meant who used them first on a Cal-look VW.  Cheesy

Thanks,
