Maybe of some interest to some,  Lee Childs has organised an event to be held at Santa Pod in 2010 [ Lee runs the racing side at EBI ]. Being a secret vw fan, Wink ,he has made a point a making sure at least a couple of the classes are suitable for air cooled vws.
Check out the events website.

Sounds good, but I don't have indicators in the factory location.
Maybe I'll get the drill out and move them back on top of the front wings.

Richie, I apologise for posting a subject in the wrong section, hey I can't read and from the above you can't spell. Guess it's quits then. Can we go back to the original subject now

Sound's cool , I'd certainly like to take part in this , 4 cylinder cars normal induction cars permitted to run without muffler " stinger then "
Rear wheel cars permited to run front runners , and slicks  Cool
Sissy bars permitted during qualifying and final
But we all know who the overall winner will be .............

there are a few 'street car' classes this is just a new one.

Street Eliminator is just the most promoted and fastest street car class.

just looks like this one will allow slicks and sticks in the pro class. which for me is a little odd.

Udo, the Street Eliminator class is a "proper" racing class, run at FIA/MSA events. The King of the Street class is a way of making RWYB events more organised, like Garys Picnic has a few classes like the Flathead Meltdown and O/FF for example.

just looks like this one will allow slicks and sticks in the pro class. which for me is a little odd.

Much like Street Eliminator in it's early days - remember Simon Payne's Camaro? That ran in CCSE Pro class, and ran 7's on slicks. The treaded tyre guys in CCSE Sportsman would run into the 11's at the time if I remember right.

You can be happy to have those good tracks over there . Our last track (Luckau)closed this year so we only have Hockenheim once a year and Bitburg as good tracks. all other events are on airports that have a very bad traction  Sad  .

That'll be because Lee was CCSE back then! Lee is no stranger to running events and is probably one of the most dedicated persons to drag racing that I have ever met. I think this would be a very good one to do, maybe get some of the guys over from Europe.
