Rallying in the good old days ;D
Suicidal spectators watching kamikaze drivers aiming cars so powerful round slippery stages they were banned 8)
And not an HSE advisor in sight..

Cheers,
Kev

Good?

The "fun" lasted until Lancia came up with their insane Delta S4 and the tragic crash of Henri Toivonen, one of the best drivers in history.

I used to get taken out of primary school in the mid 80's to go to the Lombard RAC rally with my Dad - we'd usually have a day in Wales somewhere, sitting up a hillside in the middle of November, freezing cold, having got up stupidly early, but it was all worth it when the SWB quattros and 205 T16s came by.

Ironically, the WRC cars are now faster and safer, but the rallies are shorter and less interesting IMHO.

Less powerfull but faster and safer. But this is about to change very soon with the new WRC class coming up. Today rally is almost as borring as F1 and combined with the high cost for attending they have realiszed that the sport will be dead if they do not do something drastic. And they did.

Best rgs

Group B's were quite exciting, but also sick and crazy ! Pilots were brave men to drive those monsters on such roads. I don't like what rallying became today, the last great memories I had were when I was a kid, there was Ford, Lancia, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Peugeot and To#Īta with pilots like Makinen, Sainz, Auriol, McRae etc... Now it became boring, a 2 days rally with 14 or 15 specials, I don't call that a rally. ::) And WTF with this new rule ? They run the same special twice a day, and they even removed the Monte-Carlo from the WRC. >:( And I don't like modern cars anyway. ;D

Edit : what's wrong with To-yo-tas ?  :D :D

That have to be a Dutch myth? Don't they fix leaks with fingers?  ;)
