Title: Bus Drag Engine Head Choise Please help
Post by: bedjo78 on October 08, 2009, 23:19:22 pm
Hi

I'm just close to reassembly back  the Engine after one tappet broke.  Right now I have 2 sets of CB CNC 044 heads. One is Wedge Port  42X37 ad the other is Ultra wegde port 46X37.  Previous set up I'm using Wedge Port with comp ratio 10:1. The previous engine running well a lot of torq.
I want to change it with Ultra Wedge also step up the ventury to 42 of my DRLA48.  but I still confuse as many friends of me said I should stay with small Valves and small ventury.

Here is my Bus engine combo
1. CB 84 X 94. Scat H beam 5.5 chevy
2. webcam 121 with Pauter 1:3 rocker
3. Side winder 1-5/8
4. DRLA 48. 40 vent (will move to 42 - looking for your opinion please)
5. Full weight Flywheel with kennedy stage2

Note: This Engine only for Drag Racing only

Don't listen to your friends, the 46mm Valve Wedge port will out perform the 42mm for sure, You will probably have to experiment with Venturi sizes once it's on the track.  ;)

Ok I will go to Ultrawedge and 42 Vent.

To get the compression up to 11:1  How much I need to Flycut the Ultrawedge heads
