so? cal-look is a younger brother of hot roding so are pinstripes allowed (I know ... "one colour paint job" but...)

and the secound question, does anyone knows where could I buy books how to pinstipe nad the brushes in UK... :)

 i like (on some cars) just a little around the  windows.....i dont like it on the bonnet or up the decklid....just doesn't look right to me.

i think if your car is anything but a gasser it'll probably look better without it

Love pinstriping but it doesn't  belong on a cal look car.

I was thinking only about stuff you said, some small stuff on the lid and maybe front hood, and fanhousing. I wanna my gf to learn pinstipe cuz she's a good painter and she is in hot rod and cal-ook... so... haveing private pinstriper is a good stuff...

I always thought that part of Cal Look was about emulating what was happening on the drag strip, and many of those had pinstriping, but I do think that you need to be careful with a road car.

You cab get both brushes and 1-Shot paint from "Handover" in London. Melliard told me about them.

I do like it but it's more for the resto-lookers in my opinion ...

the ride i bought this month had been pinstriped on bonnet, front wings and decklid.
now it's only on the decklid and only there cause that needs some repairs and a repaint.
can look cool though, like on 69stu's bug.

found this forum two days ago, had only a short look but check the "pinstripe how to archive". also there´s a book called "pinstriping masters" where pinstrippers show some technics in many pictures but minor basics.

My '69 used was COVERED in pinstriping- every possible place you could think to pinstripe was done.  It's all still mostly there, parts have just either faded out or were painted over (you can still see the raised lines underneath the paint though).  The pinstriping looks absolutely bitchin', the color choice wasn't the greatest though (light baby blue on dark blue car).  When I paint the car, I am going to go with the original dark (cobalt?) blue, and I am going to have ALL the pinstriping redone down to the "T"- the only difference is that instead of having it shouted at you in bright color, I am going to have it layed down in real fine stripes in black.  Subtle...

In my opinion are Pinstripes on your car like tattoos on your skin: nice, but only if you don't exagerate! An amazing stripe gives the finishing touch to many gassers or lookers. In my opinion the nicest place is over the engine lid nose, or on the front wings behind the front lights (showing where the stream will blow, when you'll kick the ass!)
