Title: cam gears
Post by: nicolas on November 07, 2009, 13:28:27 pm
so straightcuts don't make the car go faster and the wear tolerances are not really that much better to justify the cost in a street-engine,

but the sound is just too nice. and it adds so much more fun to an engine.

what i want to know is if there are mods that could be done to an original camgear to let it perform any better.

the Bill Fisher book shows one that has two grooves machined into one ( i like that one ) but i never saw one with holes drilled into it to lighten it (speedholes  ;D). can this be done in an aluminium gear? or will it weaken the gear too much? and would there any benefit in doing this at all?
