Title: Head Studs
Post by: louisb on November 09, 2009, 20:43:02 pm
What is considered the limit on stock head studs? Any reason to not to use them on my low compression 1914 build?

Thanks,

I have used the Berg studs (stock) on my 2303cc W/200HP without no problems at all. Building a motor now with more power with the Berg studs. Basicly they are stock VW studs that have been black oxide. They are very nice. But to answer your question, you should no problem what so ever.

loius,
I used stock 8mm german head studs on my 10.2/1 comp 2332 nitrous engine, ran high tens in the cab with them, broke a couple when I got the tune wrong but they are plenty strong enough :)

cheers richie,uk
