Nice car, Phil. Was that the same one that was taken to Bug-In and other VW events in the '80s? I remember a really nice black & white one like that.

Fabian, thanks for sharing this with everyone. I'd forgotten about this article, there were so many over the years. I'm still amazed how well received that car was
considering I built it as a "driver" with almost no information on the cars. In hindsight, the real pay off was being able to "share" the car with other people,
via the Registry, concour's events, books, magazines and VW meets. I like to think our humble efforts before the Internet have had something to do with the popularity of the marque now, which has exceeded my expectations many times over.

Hardcore vintage guys like Eric, Oystein and Traugott are carrying the torch now, and doing a darn good job of it.

Thank you. For all intensive purposes the first and only one for about ten years. We showed/shared from San Diego to Santa Barbara,
 but not as far as Carmel  :(, we quit counting after about eighty shows/events.
