The weather gave us a break on the rain, but it was cold (50's... freezing here in California ::)). The afternoon began with a short club meeting at Nick's where we welcomed Casey into DKP 8). Then, everything moved across the street to the big parking lot and before long, the place was packed with decorated VW's and drivers. We took off at 5:00 sharp by which time it was dark and headed north to La Habra then east to Brea. The route took us into a residential area of very nice homes that were decorated to the hilt. Some of those folks are going to have some HUGE electricity bills next month :(!! Sharon and I took at over 120 pics but night photography is not our gig... driving past Christmas lights in the dark was nothing but a blur :(. At any rate we had a great time, it was nice seeing the large turnout and thanks to all who participated! 8) 8) 8) ;D

As always, the VW community was overly generous with the toy drive. I was able to relax and enjoy once I saw that most made it to the first checkpoint, we were pretty spread out there in the beginning! Being dark certainly made it a bit more challenging! Sarge, as always, thanks for the great pictures! I need copies of the grandkids when you get a chance, they had a great time telling grandpa to keep up with other bugs!

My batteries for the cam and the remote flash were all very low since I was shooting at another VW and skateboard event during the weekend.
