Title: Gene's manifold finish?
Post by: xavier on December 13, 2009, 11:34:40 am
Hi all,

does anybody knows if Berg offered the same finish as their linkage(Hammerite blue?)
See Speedwell 1st Gen. linkage.
Thank you.
Xavier

I've only seen raw manifolds.

I've seen their manifolds in the blue. My friend Jeff Marshall had them on his slalom car engine. They were 40 P11 manifolds.

I can't speak for everyone, but mine came in blue. (Circa 1971) Sorry for the faded Kodacolor  :)

Yes indeed. Notice the Fram HP-1 filter!

And the -6 oil lines!

How did we go so fast with so many stock parts?

Or at least fast enough with a street car to give the national record holder a decent race.  :)

My Berg Special 42's had blue manifolds, linkage, air filter tops and bottoms... looked cool with my blue 019

~Correction~ Now I remember I had blue manifolds, hammertone blue linkage, gold cad plated air cleaner tops and bottoms. All finishes were original, but I bought the kit slightly used at the La Mirada swap meet mid 70's.

There... I feel better now ;D

I bought a dozen of those old "metallic orange" Fram filters a few years ago.
