Title: Front disc brakes on a '64
Post by: Jesse/DVK on January 26, 2010, 11:12:59 am
Hi all,

I looking to convert my drum brakes on the front of my '64 beetle to disc brakes, there are a few suppliers of such kits. CSP, CB, AC Industries, EMPI.. maybe more?

Which one is the best when it comes to price/quality. Which master brake cilinder should I purchase along with the kit? Which kits do not push out the wheels much because I have a stock width beam with stock spindles.

Thanks!

Jesse

Upgrade to a dual master is strongly recommended. CSP kits are top notch in quality and price, I like CB kits a lot. I wouldn´t trust EMPI brakes as my life depends on them!

I have a CB wide five kit on my 66. Works good once you get it bled. As far as EMPI goes, do you really think they actually make the calipers and rotors themselves? They look like the AC Industries kits to me.
