Title: Unless you've been in a cave..,
Post by: Ivan on February 01, 2010, 02:48:01 am
I am sure you've seen this.

But am I alone in thinking dad sold his sand rail after this weekend?

After all, there's no way he could pull a wheelie like this!

Well Louis, you're probably right.. but the kid seemed to have it well under control! He was able to blip the throttle as needed... kept his wheels straight... and you can bet EVERY one of his friends have seen that video :D

I built my kids a full size sand rail for Christmas 1989... I'm sure Rayburn remembers it well. JSC two seat frame, 1776 w/ Zenith, IRS, close ratio gearbox... it was nothing (obviously) like the kids Dad's sand rail ~but~ even at the tender ages of SIX and EIGHT, both of my boys were able to ~safely~ drive that car on nearly every trail the adults went on...
Personally, I liked it better than ATC's or Quads... much safer.

OK, Back to the film... I bet that was not the first time for that kid behind the wheel!

That kid has done that befor - you can tell that they been going to the sand for sometime - dad's ok - i would not call that irresponsible - i have seen kids like that at pismo - dumont ----- they been out there since they were born - But very nice wheel stand - good throttle control

For what it is worth, Dad is not OK.  I know the background on this vehicle.  It crashed with Dad behind the wheel and he was badly injured.

The accident was post video.  No, Ivan, he has injuries that will last a lifetime.
