Title: WHAT IS HAPPENING?
Post by: SPEEDWELL66 on February 02, 2010, 02:52:58 am
one of my friends have a 2054CC. he is using a CROWER cam that they order (i dont know which cam is it).

74x94
9.7:1 c.r.
040 "oem' heads whit 42x37 valves big round ported
dual heavy duty springs
original rockers whit swivel balls
91 octane gasoline
1 5/8 headers whit a 3 inch diameter flowmaster
48 DeLLORTHO'S
msd 6al, billet dizzi and blaster coil

o.k. here is the problem:

the engine gets a lot.......i mean a LOT of temperature in a very few minutes (almost 280 on the TEMP GAUGE)  even the "high temp" paint is well or very very burned near the 4 head flanges!  and also burns gasoline like a MUTTA FU.....R!!!

what can it be?

too much retarded cam? to much advanced cam? or something else?

i will apreciate your help amigos!

One of two (or both): bad ignition timing or bad jetting

My guess ;)
