Title: Super Bug II Photo Found in my archives....Who is standing at the back of it? Post by: rick m on February 24, 2010, 08:16:19 am I pulled some of my old ECKTACHROME slides out from early events had some prints made. See if you Orange County guys can identify the guy walking behind the car. He raced a 67 sedan for a long time...and is pretty young in this shot. I still remember him telling me how he heat treated his ring and pinions in his own stove at 350 degrees...

Post by: Frenchy Dehoux on February 24, 2010, 23:12:06 pm If you look at the picture real close you see Gary Berg if I am correct pushing Rich Cowles car on the right side and in the foreground you can see Bill Taylor looking on with his arms crossed. Cool shots Frenchy Title: Re: Super Bug II Photo Found in my archives....Who is standing at the back of it? Post by: rick m on February 25, 2010, 00:47:13 am Frenchy,
I knew it would have to be one of the old school guys, someone like you, to recognize Rich. He was pretty young in the shot. The picture is from the 70's. Haven't seen Rich in years and have often wondered what is up with him. Good catch. Also on the side line near the guard rail you can see Jere Alhadeff from Hot VW'S with the white hat on ( Jacky Stewart style ) also responsible for the February 1974 Hot VW cal look on the cover of Jim Holmes car. Thanks Frenchy Title: Re: Super Bug II Photo Found in my archives....Who is standing at the back of it Post by: kingsburgphil on February 26, 2010, 05:08:02 am another one from you rick I'd be willing to bet he was paired up against "Craig's Toy", always a tough competitor in BMC.
