I Ran Flat 6 Fuchs with 145;s stock Beam and Disc Brakes,But No Dropped Spindles on my 67 with a Ball Joint front end Also Ran them on my 56 w/o dropped spindles  (Dropped spindles kick the wheel out 3/8 of an inch per side)

Thanks for the replies. I will do a mock up on the car and see how it works and go from there.

david, any updates on this?

i am planning of putting early deep 6 on the front with 145 tires with stock beam, dropped spindles only.  my car currently has 4 inch beam, dropped spindles and i don't like narrowed beam at all and see if i can get away with it if i switch to fuchs, dropped spindles and stock disc brakes.

ok i know only way is to try it out on the real car, but due to my work and location, this is easier said than done, so i am just trying to find some info from those who happen to have done it.

i have both early and late 6 with me.

145's on 6" wheels?do you not have to strecth the tire alot then.
looks like a skinny tire to put on a 6" wheel,No?

Henk brings up a great point. I'm running a 145-15 tire on a Porsche steel 911 wheel for a spare. Can't stand how much the sidewalls stretch and that's only on a 5.5" wide wheel. Can't imagine that skinny of a tire on a 6". Have you considered going to a 155 tire? Would fit the wheel much better and the safety factor would rise, as well.

i have 145 tires with me, thats why i brought this up.

yes i am open to other sizes, as long as i can get rid of the narrowed beam..if possible with the 6inch fuchs.

unfortunately 155 tires are impossible to get, even the 145s i had to buy from a neighboring country.

i can get 165 80, 185 55, so my choices are quite limited.

Okay, given your limited tire size availability, how about finding a lower profile 165? That would be much easier, I would imagine.

To me nothing looks finer than 145's on sixes... Here is my friend Arnies with that setup at the front... And the wheels are on a stock beam with stock spindles... And 19 mm of adapter.

Hi Wallace,
I thought you did a narrowed beam? Or is this for your other cars?

david, it is for my 66. the 67 is not touched yet.

i did narrow my beam 4 inches,  running 5.5 fake BRMs and had issues with tyre rubbing. now fronts have 165 Kumhos, dropped spindles. no adjuster coz i dint like them.

i dint quite like the way the car drives now with narrowed beam.

recently purchased some a set of early 6 and late 6 fuchs, hoping i can use these rims and use a stock beam with dropped spindles, stock disc brakes. not a fan of adjusters also.
