Title: Pedal assembly's ?
Post by: Black Sheep on March 11, 2010, 22:22:16 pm
Took my old bug out for a long 100 mile blast this last weekend , not really had the chance to notice the little quirks with it before just driving around town .
but one thing that really got on my nerves was the pedal assembly  >:( . Having not driven a bug on a regular basis for a while and now being used to top hung modern car pedal arrangement
I found the floor mounted pedals a real pain , Ive got oval style pedals in the 49 , got them adjusted up right , but they sit facing the floor a bit which I find uncomfortable to drive with and find myself covering the clutch which isent good .
Has any one seen or done a good top hung conversion ? Ive seen the hydraulic floor mounted ones but has anyone seen a top hung ? think with my big feet top hung may be the way to go  :-\

Have a look at the OBP range of pedal boxes from deamon tweeks, I'm deciding between floor & top hung myself ::)
Cheers,
Kev

Joe Gallagher has a top hung set in Velocirazor, but the big problem with trying to fit them in an all steel bug is where exactly to hang them from. Kev should have no problem with the bulkhead fabrication and framework in his oval, but you might struggle with the '49 Glenn!

RLR makes a really nice set of pedals that are a direct replacement for the stock ones. Not exactly what you are looking for but might help anyway.
