To my knowlege that is the fastest that a supercharged Volksy has ever gone. My own car only ever went 9.76@147, but at an 1/8 mile event it did go 6.19 and 117mph, but crashed at the very next 1/4 mile event. It weighed 1850lbs when it crashed. My budy Mike Kristen recently ran a 6.09@122.7mph, using only second and 3rd gears, so he may go quicker eventually, (http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n216/dangerous_05/IMG_4945.jpg) but that car was very impressive considering it was the mid 1990's. I have searched high and low for details on this car ever since I read a snippet in VWTrends back in the 90s. I hope to see som engine photos if anyone has any!! 10.22@132: (http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n216/dangerous_05/Blown1775cc10.jpg) (http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n216/dangerous_05/Autorotorsintubecar.jpg) Title: Re: Old Swedish race Post by: dangerous on March 14, 2010, 00:14:40 am Note the 32mm fuel supply line:

Title: Re: Old Swedish race Post by: Frallan on March 15, 2010, 02:01:26 am The driver and owners is Mika Jansson.
He raced many years in ACVW in Sweden and mostly with 911 cylinders heads on his engines. Singel, twin turbo and then finally this car with 911 heads and twin Autorotors. Ahh, one more twin, twin spark plugs. Title: Re: Old Swedish race Post by: Carsten on March 15, 2010, 10:31:19 am Found the video , it was 1996.... Found some pics , too . Engine etc. Try to scan them next days and will post them here.

Title: Re: Old Swedish race Post by: Roman on March 19, 2010, 17:23:19 pm Brings back old memories. I remember the Gelleråsen track, there is a 90 degree right corner very close to the end of the1/8 mile track - really scary!

Excellent Carsten! I have tried and was never able to see the engine. I was even in contact with Mika as he wanted me to buy or help him sell the car and/or engine at one point but still, never saw the details. I guess he then sold it to Norway so no need for me to help him at the time. Looking forward to this. |
