Title: My '71 Beetle Post by: misaditas on March 16, 2010, 09:50:22 am After a long search, I picked up a Beetle on Friday (15 March). Right now I just want to get him driveable, but I will be giving him a RestoCal look eventually. Well, sort of. I'm pretty much going to pick and choose between styles to get a look that I'm happy with. If it doesn't fit a pidgeon-hole, tough! :D
Pics! (http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t139/misaditas/bee-bee/front.jpg) (http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t139/misaditas/bee-bee/side.jpg) (http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t139/misaditas/bee-bee/interior.jpg) (http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t139/misaditas/bee-bee/engine.jpg) Rear ends needs the most attention - both wings and the rear valance need replacing and there's a hole in the body above the engine bay. The bonnet is also beyond repair. But otherwise he's really solid. Starts, goes, stops - you know, the vital things  Updates as and when! There's a whole 28K on the clock and I doubt that's been fiddled with going on the condition of the seats and lack of wear on the carpets. Interior-wise, all Bee-Bee needs is a damn good clean. He's getting more than that, though ;) Title: Re: My '71 Beetle Post by: Neil Davies on March 19, 2010, 21:48:15 pm It's got potential! I'm hoping that when you say Resto-Cal you mean restored first, then Cal Looked! ;)
Here's my old '70, similar colour for inspiration! (http://www.muchos.co.uk/members/neil%20hab2/jeff1.jpg) Title: Re: My '71 Beetle Post by: misaditas on March 19, 2010, 22:27:17 pm Yeah, pretty much - enough resto to get him through the MOT and then Cal Looked.
Yours is very nice indeed ;) |
