hi, i've got an empi oil temp gauge, is it mechanical or electrical??

the copper tube is solid, which makes me think its electrical?

no tom
i've the same problem with mine , it's a mechanical one those are the early  empi gauges , and it works with gas inside(like a fridge) the copper wire
inside the gauges it's a bimetallic element

i asked a danish or swedish guys who had found a shop who rebuild the gauges , but it cost something around 200€ just to put a new copper wire with gas and calibrate this one

rgd
fabs
