Title: question about 5-point harness crotch strap(!!) Post by: von-dart on March 22, 2010, 19:37:34 pm Hi all, I need to know the correct way to secure the crotch-strap fixing on a floorpan bug. Welding the plate to the pan I understand,but it still doesn't seem a very safe,strong fixing point. What have others on here done?

You need to drill through the plate, through the pan and through another plate the other side to spread the load, same as if you were mounting aftermarket seats. I can't remember the exact size off the top of my head, but it needs to be a sensible side to stop the bolt just pulling through.
