Title: the coolest ever fuel tank??
Post by: jick on March 28, 2010, 14:45:52 pm
NOS p51 mustang jet fighter anti-icing tank
aluminium,5 gallon capacity, glass tube fill level gauge on the side.

the very famous so-cal speedshop 1934 ford coupe which was built in the early 50's and raced at Bonneville as well as other dry lakes was recently restored by Don Orosco's team and according to the feature in the Rodders Journal number 24 one of the hardest individual parts to locate was the correct fuel tank.....eventually they found a small stash of the correct type which were NOS.........this is one of them!

the price for all this coolness?     only £200.

P51's aren't jets ,they have a sodding great prop on the front, with a V12 packard merlin following close behind...

Very nice tank though, and a bargain at £200, just need another £1,499,800 for the rest of a mustang!
