Title: Cal Look in Scotland.... Don Metz Car hits the street. Post by: Russell on April 12, 2010, 19:51:41 pm So i was up early on a lovely Sunny Monday morning.... decided that Im driving a Cal looker this week, nipped out to the garage, fired up Don's car, took for a wash, then went too work, had a couple of meetings so it was fun just driving a bug again, seeing kids and adults at the lights saying "look its a beetle" filled up with fuel and now parked in drive awaiting tomorrows adventure...great fun.

the reason i ask is because they have (to me) the same 'idea' as cars and are drivers and not so much performance or dragrace cars. they don't have the biggest engine, but you said at the first EBI the Mohlman car was one of the funnest to drive in a way. maybe this one is for that reason comparable Title: Re: Cal Look in Scotland.... Dons car is little more rustic it has wider tyres, stiffer suspension and has been worked on, the engine is similar but not as nippy due to the carb (twin carbs vrs arnies twin carbS), they both smell the same....... that old car smell its great. When you sit behind the wheel you can see them back in the day having fun and shooting off from the traffic lights (signals) and the other think they have in common if that Blue Stickers in the rear windows ;) |
