Title: Deano Dyno Saurs purple paint
Post by: Fritter on April 20, 2010, 19:23:04 pm
I did a search and found that Frenchy sells DDS purple paint, and also found the UK Plastikote purple that supposedly is a close match.

I did some online searching and found "Testors" makes spray cans of Plymouth "Plum Crazy Purple".

Anyone know if that is the color DDS originally used?  Seems like it may be it.....

Thanks!!

Thats Joe "dear-a-tey"  ;)

When I painted some bits (manifolds etc) I used 2pack clear mixed with some various dyes my model maker friend had, sorry no "codes" though  :)

Not sure on that one, ask Frenchie... But, Paul Schley did tell me that more than once, he came home after a long day of painting manifolds at DDS, he had purple boogers in his nose.

He was telling me the same story EBI3 and TAO from Flat 4 said he had a pair of ida manifolds he could colour get a pic of to colour.

I do have the correct purple in spray cans but not able to ship by air only by ground anywhere in the US.

Schley did confirm that DDS did use spray cans of some brand..., and not a custom mixed paint applied with a spray gun.
