Title: Advice on rear tyres Post by: mcdronkz on February 26, 2007, 19:23:46 pm This is my first post I think, anway,
I want to run Enkei 5 spokes under my '60 36 hp, but I'm looking for some rubber that fits the wheels nicely. People are talking about 205/70/15 Firestone F560's, but they are rare these days. What about 195/65/15 Firestones ? Does they give the right look if I give the car the right stance ? Do you recommend 'em in combination with the wheels ? Any thoughts on this one ? You can buy them cheap at http://www.autobandenmarkt.nl >> there's already a topic about it btw... http://cal-look.no/lounge/index.php?topic=964.0 Title: Re: Advice on rear tyres Post by: Bryan67 on February 26, 2007, 19:49:54 pm Why not just run a 165? Thats the old favorite along with a 135 or 145 it will look good and with only 36 hp on tap why run such a big tire?
Title: Re: Advice on rear tyres Post by: donder on February 26, 2007, 20:42:08 pm 205/65 gives a nice look and is available from a lot of manufacturers. Take a look @ ruff's car, he runs 125 (2cv) and 205/65 tyres.

I think it a lot better since you don't rev the engine that much... Agree with you Bryan, I like a little smaller tyre at the rear than the standard 205/70. I like the 185/70. Big tyres at the back look cool if they are slicks.. I think I'm going for Nakang tyres, at €45 they are a steal. Title: Re: Advice on rear tyres Post by: mcdronkz on February 26, 2007, 21:01:31 pm Why not just run a 165? There's not much choiche in 185/70. 185/65 is a lot better to get. Title: Re: Advice on rear tyres Post by: Rune on February 26, 2007, 21:06:06 pm 185/65 will be to low. 185/70 or even 185/80 are still around.. Vredestein make some very nice tires in those sizes
Title: Re: Advice on rear tyres Post by: Jordy/DVK on February 26, 2007, 21:25:13 pm If I were you I'd go for Nankangs in the front and Bridgestones (or semperits) in the back. The 205 Nankangs don't have a very nice profile imho... get some 165 firestone, i have them too and they are really nice. classic tyre :) or get some 205/70 like jordy mentioned. 185 vredestein will probably be too expensive. don't go for anything else cos you'll be disappointed, seriously. good luck! |
