Title: I need a Pope's nose for my 51 Post by: marc1951 on May 25, 2010, 05:28:01 am I'm getting ready to send my split window to paint and I realize the license plate light I have iis a pre '49 with the lens fitted with rivets.

I suppose I could hack up the earlier light to make it fit (the base has a different profile to fit the early hoods that have a flat area for the license plate) but I'd rather get the correct one and sell mine to someone who needs the earlier (and more rare) light. I don't have a picture of mine handy but here are some pictures taken from the internet. I don't recall the exact years but you'll get the idea. No rivets around lens and the bottom has the proper shape to fit the "w" hood. [attachment=3] This is the light found on a small window.
