Nice! You should do a Berg 5 version as well that will replace the nosecone mount. You going to do a kafer cup style brace as well?

Darn!  I hoped you were working on the kafer-style brace first.  I am going to need one shortly, and already have a mid mount I am happy with.

Altho that floor jack point is a great idea!

Here is a finished picture of mount and the tools I used to mount, Should take somebody with med level skill level about 1-1/2 to 2 hours to install

The next 7-8 shot are of the install. First I grind and file frame horns, So seam is flush and nice to weld to

Now I bolt mount into place and clamp together with alum blocks supplied with mount and tack together.

Post by: danny gabbard on June 10, 2010, 02:04:51 am
Now add a few more tacks and weld complete. After welds cool, I bolt mount back in and with transfer punch I center punch. Now unbolt to grind weld. Now there to ways to move from here! Deside if going to weld both sides of frame horn. If the car is together, It going to be VERY hard to weld both sides. If you have a pan on saw horse's, No problem. So if car is together and you can only weld on side, Just grind welds where bolt is going threw area were mount is.

So now that the welding and grinding is finished, Lets rebolt mount in and drill some holes and mount hardware. After I drill the first mounting holes I came back with drill bit a little larger than 1/4-20 hardware that will bolt mount together for a little EZr mounting. The mount will be in the 135.00 to 145.00 range. I want to get all the hard ware and bits so I have a better Idea on priceing. Let me know if this sounds fair and you like the design. I got a buddy that were going to mount one in to make sure all details are finished and it fits your car when they arrive. Give me 1to2 weeks after classic weekend. For first batch of 10

Just finished makeing a couple to ship and double check fit on two other cars. One 67 and one 60 with late trans. If everything is fine and the feedback good, I will be makeing 10 more with-in two weeks. If you want one shoot me 20.00 to save one, Reason of deposit- I had a few people back out of buying something after I made something they told me to make. They will require a welder to install and a grinder to grind rubber pad to install. The reason for grinding pad is to elimanate makeing different mounts for different years, I made pad thick to be adjusted to fit all years. Well I hope. O-YA, They will be 130.00
