Title: firestone 135's on brm's
Post by: beetletom on June 24, 2010, 17:08:07 pm
any pics??
as my puma beam only goes so low, and my current steels and 135 smart car tyres, leaves quite a big gap!

i think the firestone 135 f560's are a bit taller?

Why not 145`s? They handle and stop way better than 135`s.

i had some 145 f560's on a set of brm's i had a few years ago, looked too big
was thinking if i fitted 135's it would give a bit more stretch

What make of BRMs? Flat 4 ones are 5" wide, MWS are 5.5". If you've got the MWS, you'll need the 145s. You could get away with the 135s on the Flat 4, but I wouldn't. I've got 145 Michelins for my Flat 4's - I prefer the sidewall to the Firestones.

I would not use 135s on my Beetle anyway - it's too narrow, but there is no problem with using 135/80 tyre on a 5,5 inch wide reams.

I'd go with 145's on the front, go as wide as you like on the back ;D

135's look and work best on 4- 4 1/2" wheels.

I tried 135/70 on a 5,5 inch rim. If this works, than 135/80 will be ok too.
