Don't want to sell, but realistically with the house needing so much work and other 'stuff', somebody's chance to own a very highly-spec'd California Look sedan. Registered in the UK, so no import duties and shipping costs. Why buy from the USA with the exchange rate as it is when you can own the only European-based Looker ever to make it to US Bug-In, VW Classic and the Cruise Nights… Only ever appeared at European Bug-In once, and two small local shows in the UK. Has 1870 miles on its since hitting the road, of which 850 miles were added in California this year!

1965 sedan, originally supplied by California dealer.
Subject to full body-off repaint (only needed a battery tray and one bumper mount) prior to repaint inside and out in Laguna Blue, a 1970 Karmann Ghia colour.
Chassis painted in two-pack gloss black etc.
All new trim, headlights, Lucas turn signals, T-bars etc.
NO RUST! Very straight bodywork...

Interior:
Cobra RS seats on VW subframes

Handbrakelever  modified to work as staging brake/two-step switch
New Simpson four-point harnesses on both seats
Ron Lummus DRKC chrome-moly roll-cage with door bar
Rear seat delete
New door panels, headlining, carpets, rubber mats etc

Engine:
2332cc
Gene Berg 84mm wedgemated forged crankshaft
Carrillo 5.6in con-rods
J&E slipper-skirt pistons
Century cylinders
Engle FK-10 cam
Udo Becker tool-steel lifters

Transmission:
Gene Berg five-speed built by Mike Herbert of Rancho Performance in SoCal
FTC mainshaft
Weddle 3rd/4th gears
3.78; 2.35; 1.58; 1.21; 0.89

Quaife limited-slip differential

Sway-A-Way adjustable springplates
Axle limiting straps
CSP 'torque bar'
Berg solid trans mounts (with weld-in middle mount)
Grant fuel pump
Restored 'Cotton Goff' licence plate surround (TLF25 plate not included – too sentimental to let go!)
New glass
Lexan rear screen (lightweight)
Basically everything new...

Car is currently on its way back to the UK – should be here early August. I will then have the fuel tank repainted (a fuel leak affected the paint round the sender) and supply it with 12 months MOT.
The cost to build a car to this spec doesn't bear thinking about. £18.5K – or trade plus cash.

And no, the DKP badge and decals are not included… :D

Anyway if there's no other way, good luck with the sale!
