Title: 205 mm front disk brakes ?
Post by: Black Sheep on July 17, 2010, 14:58:15 pm
Hi guys I wonder if you can help me here ?
Im going over to 205mm stud patten from 130mm . Ive got a pair of CB King & Link dropped spindles which run late vw post 66 discs with stock calipers .
Ive seen quite a few front disc conversions for wide five all loads of $$ ,
Are any of these discs that come with these kits transferable to use on late spindles and calipers ?
I don't want to run with a pair of those awfull 4 to 5 stud adaptors .
Just thought it would be cool if I could get some new discs to fit what I've got here .
Any input greatfully recived , Cheers glenn .

UR looking at serious $$$$$$$$ -- -- Lummus is hangling some out of his shop -- I bolted a set of EMPI 205 disc set to my 66 pan -- never had a problem with them but they are Heavy -- -- Most people now are going to the Chevy bold patern for their HP stuff because of the aftermarket wheels that are more commonly available

I think you'll need to change your spindles as well, Empi do a kit for 5 x 205 but they use there own spindles and i think the CSP kit uses link pin drum dropped spindles but if Gunter could confirm this and the CB kit doesn't work with dropped spindles ;D

Ive come to the same conclution myself , i think i'm gonna re-install my old spindles and drum brakes for the mo and start saving for a kit , only which one ?
Would be nice to have dropped spindles again ( better ride quality ) with a stock offset /displacement to save me having to narrow the beam  8)
