Title: Head Temp?
Post by: Rev. Bob on July 18, 2010, 03:39:32 am
I have a VDO cyl head temp gauge with the sender under the spark plug. It seems to read hotter than it should be? Anybody have any reference as to the accuracy of these?

What head temps do you see? Maybe the are what they are...

I find them pretty accurate, but they are dependant on surrounding temperature for their calibration. Calibration is at 76F or about 24C iirc. So, higher outside temps usually mean the gauge will show less and in wintertime, the gauge will show 20C too much if outside is 4 Celcius instead of 24C.
Still making sense?
