I'm planning on having a new glass cut for , which is why i need to find a watch smith or clock maker Nico . But i still need a speedo too as I don't have one :) Title: Re: VDO Jet series speedo & spares Post by: Rocket Ron on September 23, 2010, 21:18:41 pm a glazier would do that for you no problem , its not a big deal , i worked at a window co when I left school most have a pillar drill with hole cutter and plenty of water
Title: Re: VDO Jet series speedo & spares Post by: wolfswest on September 24, 2010, 08:47:31 am I had exactly the same problem with my tacho. A glazier can do the job for you, no problem. make sure you don't make the hole in the middle too big... Mine was and I glued the needle at the point I wanted it to be, so I can't adjust it anymore...
Aww, you got a cylinder head temp also, I'm jealous!!!!! ;D Title: Re: VDO Jet series speedo & spares Post by: Larry S on September 25, 2010, 01:22:15 am I have a VDO Jet cockpit tach that is cup mounted vs dash mounted. I am sure the glass is the same. It was is the Radical Rod car when my brother bought the car as a street car. It worked when we pulled it out and put in a Autometer back when we were pups, if you end up needing one let me know and maybe we can make a deal. It has been stored in a dresser drawer forever.
Thanks, Larry Title: Re: VDO Jet series speedo & spares Post by: Lee.C on September 25, 2010, 12:17:02 pm Good Choice of guages dude - It took me a while but I have all 10 gauges ;D (inc 2 cylinder head temps!)
The speedo's and tacho's come up on ebay quite often, its the others you will have trouble finding - its worth checking under "Bradley GT" kit cars as they had them fitted as stock ;) see what I've got here: http://cal-look.no/lounge/index.php/topic,8725.0.html Title: Re: VDO Jet series speedo & spares Post by: Larry S on October 02, 2010, 12:50:16 pm Here is the Jet Cockpit tach I have, it is cup mounted and was mounted to the top of the dash of a 67 bug, many years before monster tachs arrived.....Might be interested in selling.

Title: Re: VDO Jet series speedo & spares Post by: Larry S on October 03, 2010, 00:06:39 am Thanks, I always liked the jet cockpit gauges. I found Autometer makes a tach now that has a chrome case and short sweep like the old ones and has a retro Autometer logo in it. I bought one this spring and mounted in my 58. It looks like an old one, I like it a lot.
