Title: center pull linkage explanation
Post by: speedwell on October 02, 2010, 15:33:17 pm
i've collected 2 center pull linkage for the future engine , one look older(left (maybe it's a racetrim one) and the second is more newer (right(bugpack)

ithere's a difference between the 2 center pull  ,check the pict  under

The oldest seems more right(straight), less oblique, and higher

the problem is when i've put the center pull on the case  ,the newer is closer to the fan and far away from the distributor ,and if i put the older he's closer to the distributor and far away from the fan , i would like to know if you have the same problem with yours

i would like to put the racetrim one on my engine to have the correct period parts for this one

so light me thx

Check to see which one pushs on the arms of the carbs with less bind, You can always grind a little on the pads on the center peice to move in or out.

dude what are you worried about there is plenty of clearence there with both mounts,

I use an original DDS center piece with a homemade swivel piece and Yes it does come close to both the dizzy and fanhousing BUT if you are pulling the carb arms then the clearence will only INCREASE as you pull the cable/push the pedal - do you get what I mean  :-\

If not a Race Trim it comes from the same mould! It looks identical to my NOS one.

Painted or not painted? Mine is raw finish. Do not know if there was a painted version?
