I'm thinking about slick tires, which kind? M&H. Phoenix. Hoosier, other brands?
Is better to mount also the tubes?
Now I'm looking for 26 x 6 - 15, I think that the 8,5 is too big

Best et is 14,118 on 1/4 mile with stock transmission and street tires

I'm waiting a rancho pro comp gear box (rp 3.88 - 1st 3.78, 2.06, 1.48 e 1.14)  with swing axle h/d ecc

i think you only have mh and phoenix in that size? mh are a fair bit lighter and dont go flat without tubes handy if its left in the garage on slicks whereas he pheonix ones go flat after a few days but i prefer the look of the phoenix tyres ;D hope this helps :)

Are you planning on going quicker than a 14.1? Having slicks can also slow you down unless you have the power to carry them.

If so go for the M&H, we ran them until i crashed recently and would still have them if our plans had not changed, since we are now going for a larger slick. They never went flat nor did they develop any flat spots. If you are going to be leaving the slicks on permanently then you need to make sure you keep the car jacked up when its not being used.

You're not ready for slicks.
You don't have enough hp to take advantage of slicks.  If you put slicks on, you'll go slower since you'll bog on the line.

Also, you don't have nearly enough hp to pull a 3.88 R&P with a stock 1st gear.  I'd recommend a 4.12.

Yes danny, only M&H and Phoenix have that size, and also I like more Phoenix than M&H!

I'd like to go quicker than my best e/t and I had think about slick tires because now with firestone f560 (205/70) I haven't any grip in the 1st gear and a little bit for the 2nd gear also.

So, how many hp I'll need to be sure with slick tires?
Anyone has an experience with an engine like mine?

nitrous and mh slicks ;) youll be away ;D then its nice on the street when you dont turn the nos on 8)

The M&H treaded DOT tyre would be a good compromise,it grips alot better than a regular tyre but not as sticky as a slick and you can still drive to the track and back if you want without extra wheels

From experience you will break the gearbox (mainshaft/strip 1st gear) running a Rancho Pro comp box with slicks. If you want to run slicks move upto the Pro-Drag with a good mainshaft, ERCO etc;

Other than that run some Pirelli P600 205/70 at 18psi on the track. This should help given the horsepower that your motor has.  ;)

In my experience clutch setup has more to do with broken gearboxes than slicks do.  ;)

What are your 60' times?

best et on 60' is 1,953 normally is around 2,100
after work I can post other specs of transmission to have more details
so I would  run quicker but not necessarily with slick tires, that was my idea

When I was running my 1600 with slicks (Phoenix 26x6W) I found that they didn't make the car much quicker, just more consistent. Instead of the 60' being anywhere between 1.9 and 2.2 seconds, they became 1.9 every time. As I was bracket racing, that was vital. With the 2180 and both 2276's I always ran slicks so have nothing to compare it to.
