Title: Lounge Member Zak Helped Update my Interior Pieces....
Post by: rick m on October 07, 2010, 03:31:31 am
I contacted Zak (a local here on the CLL) and he helped me convert my 67 Chop back to more of a Cal Look type interior.  I wanted to redo the door and quarter panels with a biscut type look and here is what he came up with for me. I put in some Scat seats too, as they were the only type seats that would position me low enough to see straight out the chop under the WINK mirror I added.  Turned out well.  The car is finally coming together after a long hiatus.

Zak,  the look is just what I was going for.  Thanks for working with me on them and the nice work.  Hey Brew,  the car will be on the road the week prior to the Goodguys show in mid November.  How have you been?

Hi rick, Everything is looking great. Nice upgrades. I have to ask, Are you sure the car is a 67? It has 65-66 door latchs

I would concur with Danny. If its a '67 where are the "Z"bar mounts? It shows on your wheel thread with the rear fenders off, thereare no mounts for the "Z" bars. This also concurs with the wide powder coated trim. '67s went to narrow trim. Rick, please I don't mean to bag on you about your work, as it is beautiful. '67 are a paine for resto and repair, ask Deano. And yes I own a '67 as well. I'm doomed, as mine is a 'vert. Beautiful work Zack, wish I was closer to you.

Danny,

The pan is a 67...the rest is 66.  You'd think the original builder would have done things the other way around. A 66 pan for no EMISSIONS would have made sense at the time the car was originally built.  No, I am partial to 67's and updating this earlier body. I've owned many 67's...and will do another real one in the future.

Rick, please let me do the seat inserts to match. As I remember it wouldn't be too much work at all, and it will really tie the room together! I'm coming down there this weekend, I could pick the seats up and take them back with me. I'm sure I could even deliver them to you as I've been making a lot of trips down to the valley lately. Give me a call!

Zach,

How much hassle would it be (and Cost)?  I would like them to all coordinate.  I'm knee deep in this project right now anyway and trying to get it done over the next 4 weeks.  Do you still have my personal cell phone number?
