Title: Hey Sarge... VW Part number check
Post by: Donny B. on October 13, 2010, 19:11:56 pm
Hey Sarge, can you check a VW part number and see if it is still available.  The part number is:

211 569 431 A

This is what I am using in place of the rubber mounts provided by the Bergs for my trans mid mount.  They have a much higher durometer than what the Bergs sell and really work well for my 5-speed mount.

Thanks for any help

Hey Donny...  Sorry, no more number checks.... I finally threw in the towel and retired this week ;D  That being said, I've never seen a middle three of 569... usually, it's 500, 501, 505, 511, 513, or 598.

Congratulations Sarge!  Good for you!  I checked with Steve Hollingsworth and he said it was for a 72-79 Bus, but they are no longer available from what he can tell.  I guess I will have to go junk yarding and look for some.  For anyone dissatisfied with the rubber mounts provided for the Berg mid mount these work.  The VW part number is:  211 569 431A

That is the number molded into the mount I have.  They really work well.

I got a pair of these mounts from Berg years ago, when I was first building my 5-speed. As I recall, they looked different as mine were more of a dark grayish color, and not black.... Could be from old age?

Hey Donny, I used to work at CIP1.com years ago. When building mid mounts I searched everywhere for those and finally found them and we added them to stock. CIP still has some in stock.

Yeah, I think I messed up the Part number not 569 but 599 in the middle of the part number (211 599 431 A)  I know that the Bus folks in Redding have them.  Used to be the Busstop...  They are better than the generic ones that the Bergs currently sell.  Just make sure that they have the VW part number on them otherwise they could be substituting fake stuff...

I believe the grey color denotes "heavy duty" such as in a type 2 application.

Donny, I think I posted a few months back, Wolfsburg West shows this mount & p/n in their catalog, at least the last one I have.

Thanks, I'll take a look.  These are what we should be using with the Berg mid mount if they are the VW part.
