Wow! That sounds awesome Christian! You will not be disappointed with a Pat Downs' built motor!

You not going EFi then?

No ill start with Geers Terminators and take it from there, I need a littel more time to get into the EFI.

So maybe next seson, if not other projekts have turned up.

There is alot of reading and adjusting with the EFI until it fit the engine, and that time I don't have at the moment, so ill just go and have some fun next summer

But like we talked about it defently better and much more pricese.

Any estimates on horsepower? I mean, maybe CB Performance has built similar engines in the past and could estimate the power output? Would you like to PM me the price range of the engine (if you don't want to disclose it here)?

Thanks,
Valtteri

Look at Pat`s car and you will get a estimate of how many HP the engine should be able to produce on a good day - in America.

Beetlebug, You can ask Christian anything about his engine, I'm not at liberty to talk about it unless he wants me to. I only clarified the flow of his heads because I saw that he posted a flow number on them.

And this is how my gearbox is right now.. changing the 4th gear so it will fit the new engine, and im refreshing the Pro-ring as well.

And the car is having a new 5" narrowed beam insted of the 4" beam that where on it, because after changing the brakes to the spindel mounted the wheel bse became to wide and I had problems with turning without damaging the flipfront, so its now down to its org wheelbase.

Udo, When using a Pauter block, you want the rod bolts on the cap end of the rod. This way, you can R&R the rod bearings without tearing the engine down. All you do is remove the top plate on the block to gain access to the rods. Also, the cam is .250 dropped in a Pauter Block.

ill recommend that you look carefully at that dogteeths and grind them to the correct angle.

Title: Re: Angora Racing

695 kg = 1 529 lbs. race ready in front of the lights at SCC 2012  :)

285hp = 10.20 / 131 mph
300hp = 10.00 / 134 mph
315hp = 9.86 / 136.5 mph
330hp = 9.71 / 138 mph
345hp = 9.56 / 140 mph

According to the stick

WITH PLEASURE!!  :)

350hp = 9.52 / 141 mph
355hp = 9.48 / 141.7 mph
360hp = 9.43 / 142 mph
365hp = 9.39 / 142.6 mph
370hp = 9.35 / 143.3 mph

Now I do not want to go higher because your faster than most turbo guys  :D

If you're not close to the calculations something is wrong. It could very well be the car, the track or something else.

Year or the driver who is so happy about his new engine that he runs with his head up hia ass...

Hopeforly I can take it slowly and get the engine to know, but we all know what happens when we do the burnout.....

The right foot gets very heavy and the left slips by auto when the green light turn on..

This is better then sex no mater who or how maney you been with nothing can be compared with giving it full throtle and feel the kick.

I had Pat wrap it up in plastic so the Pony's won't fly away... ;D

Hopefully It will enjoy the fast flight across the pond, insted of a slow boat trip of 5 weeks in a container.

The problem with Malmø is that it is to expensiv to drive there, a trip to Gardermoen or bitburg is cheaper..

But we have a local 201 meter track 50 km from where I live and they have a spring race where i might do some testing if im ready

Yes its a nice setup, but let see what the number show, thats what counting at the end.

Christian,

There is a test`n tune weekend at Gardermoen May 5 - 6. Full prep of course. I will be there and my hope is that we can make a good size VW camp area. It would be a pleasure having you over and please let me know if you consider it.

This is the Scandinavian VW race schedule so far:

- Mai 5-6, Test`n tune Gardermoen
- Mai 19, VWOpen Finland
- Juni 9-10 Bug Run
- Juni 9-10 Turbo Town Shootout Kjula
- August 4-5 Bug Run Classic Tierp
- August 17-19 SCC
- September 1-2  Turbo Town Shootout 2 Kjula
- September 7 Gatebil 201m - se under for info
- September/Oktober: Night of Fire, Tierp

It is a busy schedule and I can highly recommend the Kjula races and especially the Turbo Town Shootout. Tierp is of course world class.

Christian Ulberg
Christian, Before you get too far with the data logger, consider moving it away from your MSD 7AL2. If you read through the RPM data loger instructions, it says to keep it away from ignition boxes. The dataloger will pick up noise and corrupt all your log files during a run. I know this because I did the very same thing as you and had to move it 18 inches away.

Hi Christian,

From reading a thread on the Pure Racing forum discussing the 'JCL steering mod', I remembered that your car had it done when it was built by Shawn Geers back in the mid 90s. I dug out an old 1997 copy of Volksworld the other day that had the original review of your car in it but it is hard to see the system in any detail. Would you mind if you you could post up a couple of pictures of the front end and the steeing system of your car?

Thanks very much

Jonny.

Sure ill see if i can do it tonight.

But its just a bar betwen the spindels and one rod to the sterring rack pretty simple but exffectiv. We also did it on you air ride cars. So you don't get the tow in and out on the wheels no matter what height its in.

I try to keep up and be positiv but its pretty hard when you have spend a ton of money already and with this result, the reason for using all this money where not to be in the situtation that i am now.

Right now it 50/50 if i will keep racing, even befor starting  for real. But it hard to see all the stuff just stand there and not be used,  a racing truck all the tools and gear i spend all the money on. Not funny when you feel like it whould be bette off without it.
