Title: strombergs Post by: beatnik beetle on November 24, 2010, 19:09:22 pm Probably a question for the "ahem" older guys, does anyone recall anyone fitting Stromberg 97's back in the day?...I know they have always been one of the hot rodders favorite carbs but, my curiosity is getting the better of me ;)

So we moved on to the Zenith which were a lot better carburetor and even using two of them with the early Berg linkage. We may be getting into a bit of R&D with him on a VW engine, I know this is a cal-look forum but, they would look great on a hot rod inspired bug ;).. be interesting to see how they work out..I will keep you posted

I ran a Holley in the early days too. It actually worked really well for bracket racing my first motor, since they worked best wide open. It would be cool to see your buddy make them usable on a VW. My Bugspray I ran on a plenum type manifold and it worked well. I am sure with the right jetting and accellerator pump mods the 97 will work.
