Hey Nicolas,
I didnt work on the motor yet,
I still need to fabricate ALOT and buy some stuff...
I hope its finished before EBI (it should :) )
scored an early rear subframe for it yesterday, will convert it to IRS; i think it will be stronger with the framehorns..

yes it will be stronger and if you can replace the rubber supports that hold the frame to the rest of the floorpan with stiffer urethane or teflon ones. (i am trying to get those made if i take the trans out) and that will stiffen up the rearend as well.
and if you keep it IRS you need to weld in the brackets OR you can use the top of the IRS frame and the bottom on the early one, then there is no problem with the fiddling and measuring of the brackets.

enough about rearends and bottoms though

hey nicolas,
I read somewhere that type 3 detectives had the harder rubbers for the subframe..

I think i will keep her like that, without lowering it

Post by: Wünderwolff on January 16, 2011, 22:26:21 pm
Very nice!

Indeed looks good like this, has a certain element of agression in it's stance. Start with the engine now, see how it handles and go from there. Early notches were known to lift their noses at speed, that's why the nose was changed to creaye more downforce. Let's see what this fat chick will do.

no rubbing in the back?
alloys are 5.5 in the back?  do you know the ET?  I guess 5.5's are ET 45 ?  ???

I also would like to use 185's on my notch, but my sprintstars are 5.5 ET 34.

is an IRS car wider then a sprinplate car?  ???

Well,
I decided, I will use a charge cooler, I dont like to have too many tubes and all that,
but its smaller and i wont have to cut holes in the car... would like to keep it looking stock...
so here it is:

still need to order, but its not expensive at all, and i will use an electric waterpump from a merc that i found for 15 euro :)

X2!

weight added with bumpers= 1%
look added with bumpers= 90%

For my taste you need those railway tracks.

Have fun!

Come on Peter, do not give up! The break cleaner / start gas test will give you a answer ASAP. Or you can try to make a adapter and used your compressor to test the turbo system / intake system for leaks.

hey guys,
did some work today...
took off the sump to be able to install the stiffer spring and other piston at FW side ...
maybe its normal, but the cow magnet was filled with metal debris...
i hope its from breakin...
will show a pic of it later
anyway, installed everything again and cranked for oil pressure....
nothing....even after a long time cranking  :'( :'(
next, i ll take off the pump cover and otherwise it will have to come apart again...
i did prime it but didnt hepl now...

hey guys,

but while reassembling, i noticed that i connected the oil filter backwards!!!!
this must be the stupidest mistake ever  :'( :'(
