Title: Engine case clearance pictures needed for 78 mm / 82mm / 84 mmm crank Post by: Frenchy Dehoux on January 06, 2011, 18:06:55 pm Can someone post pictures of type 1 VW engine cases showing the clearancing of block for a 78 mm 82 mm and 84 mm crank as I am building three of them with these sizes. I am also building a 86x94 I know on this one I will have to buy the later beefee aluminum case for more meat at the top. Pictures inside the block showing where I will have to do some machining for the crank and rods to clear. In some area the cam will have to be ground down for the rods to clear. Thanks !! Steve Hollingsworth is set up to clearance cases for every conceivable combination so the minimum amount of material is removed.
Forget doing it by hand, it's not worth your time!
