Title: Deano/DCN carbs, Deano DCN big butt manifolds, Deano linkage Post by: Fritter on January 07, 2011, 06:30:51 am I have the subject parts ready to install on my '64 Sunroof's "early" period hot rod 1600 DP motor. How did these parts work out for everyone "back in the day"? I'm kind of excited to have all these purple parts on my engine. ;D Any stories would be fantastic.

I just really like the story of Dean Lowry, his innovations, and the total package of the DDS company, as it was. These parts are very rare and special and should be nicely restored and USED as they were intended and not sit in a display case somewhere! ;D
Well, I will make exceptoin for the NOS parts found in the original packaging...those are kind of hard to use. Even though I am going to with the NOS full flow Deano kit I found. I'll keep the box and OG instructions, though. Did the thugs and the ho's use DDS parts back in the day? ::) :-*
Lets see some pics of your parts stash Mike. Is it really going to be a 1600? Not even using a set of 88's? Title: Re: Deano/DCN carbs, Deano DCN big butt manifolds, Deano linkage Post by: Fritter on January 08, 2011, 18:14:35 pm Yo Dave! Nope only the piamps did from what I hear. Hahaha!
Stock Mexican 1600 DP at first, with the DDS parts and some hi lift rockers and an 019 screamer, to get it on the road. Restoring a whole car basically on one's own is a lot of work!! With ported 40/35 heads and an Engle 120 it was good for a best of 13.32 with slicks ... full on street car. I still have the carbs!!! ;) AND THE CAR!!!! ;D |
