Title: Deano Dyno-Soar Purple
Post by: deano on January 24, 2011, 17:03:40 pm
I was able to borrow an original Deano IDA manifold from Paul Schley, with the idea of trying to record what exactly that purple color was.... So, here goes. Now depending on the lighting, or shade, this metallic purple changes to say the least. I have color-corrected this photo to get it close, but it will again change depending on your monitor settings. And as Richard Roth mentioned in one of his e-mails, this color changes from one part to another, but since Paul Schley used spray cans back in the day, it makes sense that there is no 100% correct formula....

Cal Custom made a line of aerosol candy colors back in that era. Wonder if was one of theirs.

I'll take a pic later and post. It's a purple metallic with no pink at all. I see some people using that pink to paint and I cringe.
