This is one I have been wondering about for a while now - Do 14" Empi 8's fit over STOCK vw disc brakes  ???

I have been looking at empi 8's ALOT resently and I am liking them more and more - I have always thought 14's on the front and 15's on the back would look cool, but the thing is I want to run Stock vw disc's up front and type3 drums out the back  ;D

so like I said do 14" Empi 8's fit over stock vw disc's ??????

Pretty sure I've seen that set up on a Ghia before. It's tight, but it cleared... I think! Only downside is that you can't run drop spindles with 14's if it's a ball joint beam.

Zach is right. My buddy Christian from DFL had 14" spyder mags on his 1966 looker (maybe you´ve seen his car at the first EBI) and it worked with the stock disc brakes but he had to get rid of the dropped spindles.

Cool I was hoping they would fit  :) And don't worry I won't be using dropped spindles (I hate them!!!!!)

Better start looking for a pair of 14's then ;) oh and a pair of 15's  :)

I had a 1500 '67 beetle and I used this combo as wel. (dropped spindels as wel )
But it won't fit unless you use a spacer.

I think it's more less the same as my club mate Tobi has told you ...

i've also empi 8 14 & 15" on my 74 but it was brake drums

                                                     Fine looking car you've got there! How wide is the spacer? Did you narrow the beam as well? Nothing wrong with drop spindles!!

Thanks Zach, I used the combination of narrowed beam and dropped spindels, so it looks like normal size again.
Plus the 1 cm wide spacer of course

I had 14" 8 spokes on my '69 Ghia in '79/80....no problem.....I have 5-14s and 5-15s.....I'm in SoCal, I'd take 100 each.....take your pick. 760-947-6647 or I can ship at your cost.

No one ever copied the 14's....Yes, they are real.....they need repolishing and paint, but are in good shape.....VW pattern, no center caps. I'm in the High Desert SoCal. 760-947-6647

I'm affraid I'm not in a position to buy them at the moment but I sure if you pop them in the "for sale" section someone will snap them up - Thats a VERY good price, $500.00 for a FULL set of empi 8's sounds like a bargin to me  :)
