Post by: Fritter on January 27, 2011, 18:16:20 pm
Anyone know the spec for setting the floats on dual Weber 40DCN14's?  Can't find it anywhere.....

Thanks!

Bummer!  What did you end up setting them at?

I have no exact figures for you but here is roughly what I did:

I took the tops off the carbs and rested them on the bench up side down with floats in the air - Then I adjusted the small tab so both floats "just" rested on the Ball valve, Kinda hard to explain but get them so the floats just rest on the ball valves and still have a little "spring" to them  :-\ As for how deep the Floats go - I don't have a figure for you but I just measured the depth of the float bowl and then adjusted the other tab on the floats acorrdingly - Hope you get what I mean  :-\ Ask me if there is anything you don't understand and I will "try" my best to explain further  :D ;) :)

Not quite understanding you.

I found that a 40 DCN and DCNF have the exact same needle/seat and float. So, the spec for float might be the same. The spec (from bottom of float to sealing surface on carb top) is 48mm and 58.5mm at top and bottom of travel, respectively.

I'm going to try that.
