Title: GNRS
Post by: Sarge on January 30, 2011, 22:59:38 pm
Got a free Thursday (set-up day) pass for the big show at the Fairplex.  It's nice being able to see the cars instead of the crowd for a change.  A few pics...

Is the Mysterion a clone? I've never hear that there was enough left from the original to restore.

A friend of mine was instrumental in finding the Orbitron,

of all the cars I've seen this is the one that standsout it's just so subtle

Wow, thanks for sharing! Is this the original Hawaiian slingshot? I recall somebody told me it's in Italy... ???

I just love the Winkel & Trapp Magicar. Unusual design, but it's so right.

Thanks, guys!  I'm fairly certain that this car was the show winner.  Sadly, a NICE roadster was STOLEN in the Fairplex parking area over the weekend... unbelievable . :'(

I agree with you on this one. Don't care for the wheel condoms posing as tires... but a very nicely done car. At least this one looks like one could actually drive it. Most of 'em appear to be garage queens that were never meant to be enjoyed on the road. Hope that I'm wrong on that assumption.

I was sort of disappointed of the cookie cutter of the 10 cars that were selected for finalist for the winner -- 5 of the 10 were '32's and only one of those was a vert -- the vert did win -- BUT there were some really nice cars not selected.

By the way very nice pictures and I loved the fueler

The "Mercedes Bent" - really neat and well executed. Some info here: http://www.hotrodscustomstuff.com/mercedes-bent.html

Slightly different to the 190 SL at Mercedes Benz World in the UK:

Thanks, Tim... and thanks for sharing the link about the Mercedes build; who'd a thunk it.  IMO, a Mercedes is not really what I wanted to see at a Roadster/Hot Rod show, though... more trailer-queens please! ;) ;D
