Title: Valve adjuster ID
Post by: bugnut68 on January 31, 2011, 02:09:18 am
Not sure which company's valve adjuster this is, but it came with a set of VW 1.1 rockers and Berg rocker shafts I bought at Sacramento last year.  The same guy had an EMPI or other cheap aftermarket shifter with a Berg handle on it amongst his items for sale... ::)

They appear to be a swivel foot with a large foot end but not ball-and-socket nor is it a cup style.  They are not cross-drilled with oiling holes, but do have the allen head end for the jamb nuts.  I need to know if I need to back cut my CB Performance 1.25 (Super Stock) rockers for them if they are indeed 911 style adjusters.  I can't seem to find any adjusters on the Berg, Scat, EMPI or CB web sites that match these.

Older Berg adjusters had the allen key, unfortunately I sold my last set, so can't post a photo for you.  I used them on 1.25's, but needed to shim the rocker stands (or you can cut shorter pushrods).

Yes, those are Berg, Porsche ones have a little longer neck so to speak, for sure you'll have to grind under the rocker to clear the adjuster ball-and socket. The Berg your gonna have to just try it and see, if you do it won't be much. I did with mine on my 1776 motor.

Well, that's good news for me, as I can follow the Berg instructions for installation, then.  I'm going to have to make a new set of pushrods anyway (long story of a STUPID mistake, lol).  Onward and upward! ;D Thanks, guys.
